Pencil Lines # 115

Isn't this a great sketch! The Design Teams' takes on it are great. It was definitely a challenge to crop the photos down small enough to create the tree. I really like the result--sparkly, eh?

Rusty Pickle Sketch Contest

This layout is for a contest at Rusty Pickle. It was challenging to use 80% Rusty Pickle product as I have only their paper--no LSS here in my town. I do love all the reds and browns though!

UPDATE: I won!!!!! How exciting. You can see the layout at their blog.

Rowdy Boy

Can you see the big bandaid right beneath his cowboy hat? That's covering up a busted head that he got playing "fort" with his brother about ten minutes before having to leave for Thanksgiving dinner. It did not slow him down one bit. In fact, he busted it reopen two more times that day. Boys!

Yeahhh!!!! This layout was in the Daily Top Ten at Two Peas on 12/16 to 12/17. It went so high as number three! My first top ten, very exciting.

Christmas Cuties

These two boys and scrapbooking--how can life get any better? I just love all these bright colors and the hodge podge of brands and embellishments! I'm enjoying this "junky" style. I tried the pleated paper (under the picture). This is also the first time I've left so much "free" space on the page. I'm going to play with this style some more.

My Two Sons

Here are my most recent layouts of my two sons. The youngest is testing out an old rocking horse that we ended up selling in the garage sale. Ever since, he's been fascinated with "horsies." The oldest is running up to the house to show us his latest pride token from school...finally, he's behaving himself in school.

Another sketch challenge!

I just love all those blogs out there that post sketches...and even give away a prize. They make my scrappy day!!!

This is my oldest son's first Junior Runners Race. He lost his shoe at the start and got passed by all the racers. Determined, he dug his shoe out from under a parked car, put it back on and tied it himself, and finished the race...nearly last. He learned a big lesson that day.

No flowers on this one!

Well, this is definitely a boyish layout! I could not get away with even one flower. So to fill in the space I went to some grunge board, which I love! I'm happy with the result.

Guest Designer Layouts

Here are four layouts that I did as December Guest Designer for Simply Obsessed. They will be published in their December newsletter. Fun stuff!!!

A Great Discovery

First off, how cute is that kid in the cowboy hat? Anyhoo, I edited this picture at Picnik, a website that allows me to edit my photos for free--now my husband doesn't have to buy me Photoshop! You'll be seeing a lot more of these edited pics!

WOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

I am now officially a scrapbook designer! I found out today that I'll be the December Guest Designer for SimplyObsessed.com (a fab kit club). Hopefully the kit is in the mail because I am crazy excited to give it a whirl. My layout entitled Wonder Fall was the winning entry (see below).

NOT a Kit!

Lately all my pages have come from my kits. For this layout, I went outside the box (literally, I did not dig into my 12x12 shipping boxes) and used random paper from previous projects. I LOVE how it turned out. The sketch is from Becky Flect and the ribbon gathering was shown at Scrap-Room this month. The rest was all my imagination.

So I finally took down my Halloween decorations. I was trying to keep my halloween banner up as long as possible seeing as it was my first banner and so darn cute (if I do say so myself!). I folded it up and put it in a gallon ziplock. I hope it makes it through the year in the attic.

Wow! My new camera takes stunning photos with the click of a button. I can't stop taking pictures. Everything--including weeds in my backyard--is subject to being caught! Enjoy! Aphra

DT Tryouts

These two layouts represent my submissions to be a part of the Treasured Memories Design Team and the Simply Obsessed Design Team. I love the idea of being challenged and stretched to try new techniques, layouts, products, etc. Wish me luck! Aphra

Hi all! Just trying to customize and set up my blog. This is a big step for a cyberspace newbie such as myself! So far, so good though.
