Happy Harvest Release Week

Have you been over to Imaginisce's blog this week?  Well, if you have, you saw Happy Harvest, their fabulous new Fall line.  LOVE the warm colors and cute critters on this one.  Here's one of my projects on the blog today.

I {Heart} Fall Mini Album

I followed a pretty simple formula for this 6" x 6" mini album.  Each page has a 2" and a 4" block of paper with a smaller strip to cover the seam.  Then I added some photo mats, die cuts, and sticker stackers.  And the finishing touch was some Stickles and an assortment of i-Rock crystals and studs.  Now, I have a sweet little mini album just ready for my Fall photos.  You know, in like 6 months when the weather around here finally cools down a bit.  LOL

You can see two more of my Happy Harvest projects HERE at the Imaginisce blog.  And, if you leave a comment, you will be eligible to win the entire collection.  Woo hooo!!!

Jillibean Soup Summer Bucket List

Today is my last Guest Designer post at Jillibean Soup.  The bright, playful papers that Jill sent me were just perfect for my Summer 2011 Bucket List.  This is my favorite project that I created for Jillibean and I've been dying to share it with you all month.  Here, take a look.

Summer 2011 Bucket List

As you can see, it's not exactly a list, but it is a bucket.  A cute little metal bucket straight out of the Target Dollar Spot.  To decorate it, I added a ruffled flower centered with two stacked Red Bean Blossoms.  And to finish it off, I added a couple of Butterfly Sugar Picks.

The list is actually a set of Kraft Shipping Tags.  Each one is embellished with Journaling Sprouts, Die Cuts, Alpha Beans, Coordinating Stickers, and various ribbons.  And written on the tags are activities that I plan to do with my kids this summer.

As we complete each activity, I plan to take a photo and attach it to the back of the tag along with some journaling.  I think it will make a fun little tag album to remember our Summer.  We've already checked off a few activities.

Thanks Jill for having me this month.  I just LOVE Jillibean Soup products and can't wait to see the new lines at CHA.

And thank you for stopping by today.  Now, I'm off to enjoy some more Summer fun.

Final June HELLO Thursday

The last of three June HELLO Thursdays was posted yesterday on the Official Cricut Blog and oh. my. stars.  it was a good one.  Soooo many new cartridges and inspiring projects.  You will definitely want to check it out HERE.

I got to play with the new Space Party cartridge.  With this new cartridge, you can make the perfect party decorations, invitations and party favors for your favorite space alien.  The cartridge includes 3D favor boxes or centerpieces, alien mask, 3 space friends, name tags, banner, awesome rocket card, envelope, phrases, and cupcake wrapper.  As you can see, though, you can also make a fun layout.

Outta This World

The large UFO, space icon, and planet shapes were cut with this cartridge.  And that's only three of the images available.  Pretty fun, hun?

There are seven new cartridges up for grabs at Cricut.com and all of them are featured along with some awesome projects over at the Official Cricut Blog.  So, which cartridge is on your wish list?

Guest Designer Day at Jillibean

Today I have another layout up at Jillibean Soup for my June Guest Designer spot.  This one uses Blossom Soup and a sweet pic of my youngest son.

His Smile Makes My Heart Soar

Normally, I try to match my photos to the colors in the papers, but I didn't really have any pictures with a lot of pink and blue in them.  Instead, I used the less dominant colors in the papers (yellow and green).  I love how it turned out.  I plan to play around more with how I choose my photos in the future.

To create this paper-pieced kite, I printed a kite out on my computer to use as a template.  I cut the parts from four different patterns so that I could use more of them on my layout.  And then I finished it off with some Jillibean Soup kraft twine.  And since I had a pretty big space available for my title, I decided to use a variety of Jillibean Soup alphas for a long title.  I think it adds a lot of interest to the layout.

And, of course, I had to use some Journaling Sprouts.  I sprinkled them around the page--one up top for the journaling and a few in a cluster on the right side of my photo.  LOVE all the different shapes and colors you get on a sheet.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I'll have my last (and favorite) project up on the Jillibean Soup blog next Tuesday.  Hope you'll check it out.

Happy Father's Day

My kids are blessed with an amazing dad.  He plays with them and makes them laugh, but also disciplines them when they "act like monkeys."  He will get up with them in the middle of the night when they can't sleep or at the crack of dawn when they are ready for the day.  He will go to their doctor's and dentist's appointments.  He even lets them run errands with him.  And he works really hard so that we can enjoy vacations at the beach every summer.  Like I said, we are pretty blessed!  So I just wanted to leave him a little tribute here on the blog.  We love you!

Hello June

Ahhhh . . . June.  For my family, this usually means vacation.  My favorite time of year.  Here's my cute guys all packed and ready to hit the road.

And here are my boys ready to dive into the Gulf.

And here's what they plan to do all day.

And while my boys frolic in the water's edge, my hubby and I are doing this.

After seven days of sons, sand, and surf, I'll be ready to go home and scrapbook all those fabulous pictures.  Speaking of scrapbooking, I thought I'd share some projects that I made for one of THREE June Hello Thursdays for the release of some awesome Cricut cartridges.  I got to work with this one called Nine Months.

Sooooo many awesome cuts for scrapping your pregnancy, baby shower, and new baby.  I created a birth announcement card.

It's A Girl

I also made a sweet baby gift bag for a friend of mine who is having a boy this July.  Too sweet!

It's A Boy

Be sure to check out the rest of this month's new releases at the Official Cricut Blog HERE.  Thanks for stopping by!

A Little Red, White, and Blue

Hi friends!  I have a quick post today before I pack up my laptop and head off on our annual family vacation to the beach.  My toes are itching to feel the sand and my mouth is already watering just thinking about the steamed shrimp at my favorite dive.  It's going to be wonderful.  And if this year's trip is anything like last year's, I'll still be scrapping beach pictures when we go next year.

Today's post is not a beach layout though.   Instead I wanted to share a couple of patriotic cards that I created for my Jillibean Soup June Guest Designer spot.  I was inspired by the Red Script Canvas Stars and all the red and blue papers and die cuts from the two lines they sent -- Blossom Soup and Watermelon Gazpacho.
Remember Card

Jillibean Soup Supplies:  Kraft Card and Envelope, Red Soup Staples, Fresh Cilantro Paper, Blossom Soup Die Cut, Red Script Canvas Star, Corrugated Button, Red Baker's Twine, Brown Dotted Twill, Twine.

Stars and Stripes Card

Jillibean Soup Supplies: Anejo Cheese Patterned Paper, Sprig of Mint Patterned Paper, Yellow Bell Pepper Patterned Paper, Seedless Cucumber Patterned Paper, Corrugated Frames, Watermelon Gazpacho Die Cut, Red Script Canvas Star, Red Baker's Twine, Twine.

I just love how versatile the Jillibean Soup supplies are.  From the spring-themed Blossom Soup and summer-themed Watermelon Gazpacho, I was able to create two Red, White, and Blue patriotric cards.  Although I do have plenty of scraps left for scrapping more beach pics.  Just saying!

Fishin' For a Father's Day Card

Today's Imaginisce blog post is all about crafting a manly card for Father's Day.  I grabbed the new Happy Camper collection, my Cricut Expression 2, and the Campin' Critters cartridge and got to work on a card for my step-father, who is an avid fisherman.

Catch of the Day Card

Aren't the Happy Camper papers just right for a Father's Day Fishing Card?  Oh, and I threw in some Echo Park Dots and Stripes, too.  Amazing how well it coordinates with the patterend paper.

This is the second time that I've used my Campin' Critters cartridge with this paper line.  It's like they were meant to go together.  I cut the Deer and all his layers at 3" from three different shades of brown cardstock. Then, I cut the coordinating sign and all its layers at 4".

And to finish it off, I added a little i-Rock black metal stud to the fish's eye and then some paper and embellishments to the envelope.  Now, I just need to stuff in a gift card and we're all set.

If the Dad in your life is not a fisherman, you can pop over to the Imaginisce blog HERE to see lots of other great card ideas and to put your name in the hat to win the ENTIRE Happy Camper collection.  Woo hooo!!!

Happy Scrapping!

Pool Side with the Cricut

Back in March, I got to play with a brand new Cricut Lite cartridge, Luau, for Cricut Circle (read all about the benefits of joining the Circle HERE).  It's exotic images were just right for scrapping some photos of my kiddo playing in his inflatable pool.

Pool Side

Supplies:  Cricut Expression, Luau cartridge, Pink Paislee Hometown Summer papers, My Little Shoebox mini alpha stickers, cardstock, gems, jewels.

I LOVE these Tiki images.  I embossed, layered, and stacked three of them.  I thought they added a ton of dimension to my page.

This cartridge also contained some really pretty exotic flowers.  What a colorful embellishment for a project, hun?  We are going to the beach next week, so I am sure I'll be pulling this cartridge out again soon.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great weekend.

Tag! You're It!

Welcome to Imaginisce's Gift Tags Blog Hop.  Hopefully, you've hopped on over from Lydia's blog.  Aren't her tags precious?  LOVE all that Happy Camper goodness.

For my gift tag set, I decided to make bookmarks for my two boys and myself.  These bookmarks are to celebrate the gift of reading.  We are participating in our local library's Summer Reading Program and going on two road trips, so we plan to do a good bit of reading.  Next week, I'm going to put these bookmarks in a new book that I am buying for each of my kiddos to take on our first road trip.

Along with various Imaginisce lines, I used Echo Park's Dots and Stripes Metropolitan Collection.  The colors were just perfect.  And I loved all the stickers available.  What a great combination!

This bookmark is for my oldest son.  For it, I used Imaginisce's Happy Camper line.  I am so in love with the fun colors in this line.  And that little hot air balloon seemed the perfect accent for a bookmark.  Reading is such a journey!

This next one is for me.  To add a little girly flair, I used Imaginisce's Berrylicious collection.  LOVE those strawberries.  And besides, isn't reading sweet?  LOL

Last but not least, is my youngest's bookmark.  Since he is just four, I decided to use Let's Roll, an older Imaginisce line full of cars, trucks, trains, and planes.  He will LOVE the bright colors.

Ok, then, that's all I've got for you today!  But next on your hop is the very talented Sophia.  Trust me, you do not want to miss her sweet tags.  Oh, and if you finish the entire hop, leaving comments along the way, you might just win yourself a FABULOUS prize:  a selection of Imaginisce Happy Camper Papers, a Selection of Echo Park Papers and a set of Spellbinders Nestabilities.

Happy hopping!

Gulf Shores

How cute are those little bathing suits?  Eeek!!!  And those Journaling Sprouts make me super scrap-happy too.  Anyhoo, if you want to see some close ups, pop over to the Jillibean Blog HERE.

A Little ScrapRoom Show and Tell

This month's ScrapRoom Flavors of the Month kit has a little bit for everyone.  There's masculine and feminine, neutral and colorful, bright and muted, vintage and modern.  I could go on and on, but I'll show you instead.  Here's the rest of my June projects.

Army Boy

This one is Crate Paper's Toy Box line.  I didn't think I'd ever be able to scrap photos of my son posing with his gun, but these papers really worked.

Happy Day

LOVE Pebbles' Happy Go Lucky line.  The bright colors and clean lines are just my style right now.  The papers don't match my pictures perfectly but the feel of the papers worked for me.

Perfect Day

More Pebbles Happy Go Lucky and a little SEI Corinne!  We got some great glittered die cuts in the kit and I just had to use them.  Aren't the sun and clouds cute?  This one is fairly simple thanks to that big 8 x 10 collage photo.  I'll be chatting that up at The ScrapRoom Blog later this month, so stay tuned.

Hello Card

October Afternoon 5 & Dime.  Need I say more?  LOVE it!!!  I'll be doing a tutorial on that super sweet bow at The ScrapRoom Blog later this month, so stop by and check it out.

Lucky Day Card

I designed this card to showcase the super cute stamp that you can get as an add-on this month.  It has just the right vintage touch to coordinate perfectly with this month's kit, particularly the October Afternoon 5 & Dime collection.  You should see what some of the other girls did with the stamp.  Ca-UTE!!!  You can pop over to the gallery HERE.

I'm sure there's a few more of these awesome kits available in the TSR store HERE if you'd like one!  And thanks for stopping by today.  Toodles!
