TSR June Sneak Layout

We are in the middle of Sneak Week at The ScrapRoom.  My assigned paper line was Simple Stories Awesome, and it was just perfect for scrapping my boys.  Here's what I came up with.

1 Cool Boy

This layout came together so quickly thanks to all the masculine patterns and the full sheet of cardstock stickers.  The full kit will be revealed soon.  Can't wait to share!

Pebbles Flowers Week

Happy Friday! Today wraps up Flowers Week at the Pebbles Blog. I had a couple of cards up yesterday that I'd like to share with you.  They were inspired by the Hip Hip Hooray Dimensional Flowers.

I just love their funky petals.  Lots of texture.  I wanted them to have a little more presence on my cards, though, so I snipped off the brad tops and replaced them with some Pebbles buttons.  Ahhh . . . much better!

Thank You Card

Thanks for stopping by today!  It's my kiddos first day of summer, so we are off to find a little sunshine.  Have a great weekend!

May Page Starter Version 2

We have a new feature over at The ScrapRoom.  Each month, we'll offer up a Page Starter, which is the beginning of a scrapbook page.  Patterned paper only.  We'll challenge you to finish the page and show you an example or two of what we came up with. Here's my example. With so many different patterns and strips of paper, I finished this one off pretty simply with four photos, a mixed title, and a few embellishments.  Quick!

Everyday Summer Fun

We'd like to see how you finish off the May Page Starter. And one lucky lady will win a $10 gift certificate to the TSR store. Check it out HERE!

Happy Friday!

Ready To Travel

We are counting down the days until vacation here at my house. We are at 18 days until Disney! SO excited. One thing I want to be sure to make for my kiddos before we go is an autograph book. I plan to make one similar to this travel journal that I made last year for Cricut Circle.

Travel Journal

I used Cosmo Cricket's Upcycle paper and chipboard and the Pack Your Bags cartridge.  I just love that sassy chick.  She is working that beach hat.  I doubt I'll be looking that cute at Disney.  In the middle of June.  In my bermuda shorts and Teva sandals.  LOL!  That's alright, I'll be having a fabulous time though.

Ok, I'm off to put together some Disney autograph books.  Hope to share those soon!

Have a great day.

TSR Recipe Card

I realized that I never shared my ScrapRoom recipe card layout.  Since the month is flying by, I thought I'd better go ahead and post it before it's time to post my June layouts.

I was assigned the SEI Field Notes line.  At first, I was really intimidated by the mustard cardstock that came in the kit.  Like, pouted for a couple of days didn't want to use that color intimidated.  I just knew that I wouldn't be able to create a layout that I liked unless I was able to use white or cream or kraft or black. Finally, I just had a chat with myself about getting out of my box and trying new things.  And here's what I created.

Nature's Classroom

The floral pattern and the butterflies immediately made me dig out some outdoor pictures.  These had a lot of blue in them, which provided a nice contrast to the mustard.

I really wanted the pretty butterflies to show up, so i mounted them on circles of the periodic table paper, a nice neutral pattern in the midst of so much business.  A nice side effect was that this paper also inspired the title. By using the word "classroom," I felt that it made the periodic chart seem appropriate.

Remember that members of TSR can download the step-by-step directions for this layout in addition to the rest of the Recipe Card layouts.  Check it out HERE.

Have a great day!

Foto Friday: New Orleans Edition

Today's Foto Friday features pictures from our excursion to New Orleans a few weeks ago. Our main purpose was to take the boys to the Aquarium of the Americas and the Audubon Zoo. And to walk around the French Quarter and eat some yummy Nawlins cuisine!  Here are some favorite shots from our weekend.

Hope you had a good time walking around New Orleans with us.  Have a great weekend!

Doodlebug Mother's Day Card

All week at the Doodlebug Blog, we are posting Mother's Day Cards and gifts. Using a Square Baroque Create A Card and some Hello Spring patterned paper, I created a card that contains a gift.

 For Mom Gift Card Holder

First, I rounded the corners of the black card base and then added a sheet of 6 x 6 Hello Spring paper for the background.  Another strip of striped paper and a die cut from the Colorwheel collection provided a place for my sentiment.

To create the gift card pocket, I cut down the the third flap and then adhered the edges to the middle section of the card.  It was the perfect pocket!  I added another die cut and some layered flowers, so we could sign our names.

The Doodlebug team has created some amazing Mother's Day projects!!!  Be sure to head over the the BLOG and check them out.

Have a happy Wednesday!

Yee haw! It's Foto Friday!

Last weekend this little buckaroo celebrated his 5th birthday with a cowboy-themed backyard birthday party.  There were hats, bandanas, pistols, holsters, and badges for everyone.

We even had a sheriff, just in case anyone got out of hand.  Trust me, nobody wanted to mess with this guy!  I mean if the cap gun or plastic handcuffs weren't enough to scare you straight, that peel-n-stick mustache surely would.  More Groucho Marx than cowboy.  LOL!

The Chuck Wagon (aka eight foot fold-up table) was full of yummy snacks, including some deLISHous chocolate and peanut butter cupcakes from the new bakery down the road.  Having cupcakes was SO much easier to serve!  And I loved how they looked with the little sheriff's badges on top.

We had a few games.  The kids' favorite was definitely panning for gold, a bunch of spray-painted rocks at the bottom of a storage box filled with sand.

A few outlaw friends came by.  The one in the blue shirt kept giving me the stink eye every time I pulled out the camera.  He was taking his part pretty seriously.  SO cute!  Oh and there was also a crazy uncle in the mix.  That one kept stealing the kids' pistols.  I had to sick the sheriff on him a couple of times.

After cupcakes and root beer and a couple of hours of running around the backyard, I ran all the outlaws out of town and threw these two in jail.

We had a great time!  And all the planning and preparing kept me from thinking too much about how my baby boy is FIVE.  Not happy about that.  At.  All.

Have a great weekend!

May ScrapRoom Layouts

This month's ScrapRoom Flavors of the Month kit is amazing!  It includes four knock-out lines: Lily Bee Buttercup, October Afternoon 9 to 5, Fancy Pants Be You, and SEI Field Notes.  Such variety!  And here are the layouts that I made.

Serious Business

These pictures of my two boys crack me up.  They were SO serious over their game of Go Fish.  This October Afternoon 9 to 5 paper worked well with the sentiment I wanted to convey in the layout.  And I really like the camera flair!

Smile

I rarely scrapbook photos of myself.  But this Fancy Pants Be You paper was perfect for a recent Instagram photo that I took of myself.  It's amazing how a little photo editing can take a so-so picture and turn it into one you really like.  I'll be doing a tutorial on the coffee filter flower over at TSR later in the month.

Hello Sonshine

This layout was my favorite for the month!  The Lily Bee Buttercup papers were the perfect colors for this fabulous picture of my son on the water slide at his brother's fourth birthday party.  I used THIS tutorial by Laura Vegas to create the sunburst effect.  SO easy!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Happy Wednesday to ya!
