Project Life: Week 35

Wow, it has been a busy two weeks with me going back to work and the kiddos going back to school and with my husband having surgery. In the midst of all that, I got my September kit from The ScrapRoom. It was actually nice to have a little time to scrapbook. Today I'm sharing my September sneak layout, which uses My Mind's Eye's Adorbs collection.  LOVE this color scheme.

Project Life: Week 35

This layout is not actually a week's worth of pictures, but I find that I just go with what I have. And what I had was pictures of my two boys being silly with their Frito Chili Pies. Sometimes it's the simple things in life that really make me happy, and that is what I love about Project Life. I feel perfectly justified in documenting the simplest of things.

For the above card, all the papers, except the grid card, came in The ScrapRoom's Flavors of the Month kit.  The green letters and pink numbers are from my stash. The wood veneer number piece came in an earlier kit. The enamel embellishments that came in the kit are so fun. The quotation marks were perfect for my journaling spot.

That's all I have to share today, but the full kit will be revealed on September 1st.  See you then with the rest of my projects!

Ready for a New Year

I updated my teacher blog with pictures of my classroom all spruced up for the new year, which starts next week. The post is HERE in case you'd like to check it out. Here's the entrance.  Come on in.

Project Life: Week 34

I loved the I {Heart} Summer line so much that I used it twice this month. For my Week 28 spread, I used the more colorful cards and the ones that were more specifically about Summer. However, since this layout is not about summer, I used more yellows, blues, and oranges without any mention of summer. I also brought in some embellishments from a couple of the Flavors of the Month kits: the pink brad, the banner stickers, and the chipboard frame.

Week 34

The left side is about our kitten Izzy when she was about a month old.  She was still so tiny and cute.  The right side was about my five year old learning to tie his shoes, a favorite treat, and my dog's reaction to our Hurricane Isaac preparations.

I find that I have not been doing a good job of putting the dates on all my title cards, so this month I tried to remember to do that for every week using my date stamper. Not sure if I like all the white space on this card, but I didn't want to overthink it.

For the photos on the right hand side, I used the numbered journal card to identify each event and then added banner stickers and a number to each photo. I like the extra pop of color that the stickers add.

That wraps up my ScrapRoom layouts for the month. In case you noticed, I skipped Weeks 31, 32, and 33. Partly because I didn't have many pictures with the beginning of school and partly because I have it on good authority that there will be a school line in The ScrapRoom's September kit, so I am saving all my back to school pictures for next month. Hope to see you then!

Project Life: Week 30

I think this week's spread is my favorite one for this month. The pink and cream color scheme with pops of black, turquoise, and red was so much fun! The main events are a Chick-fil-A lunch and Ethan's nightstand turned office. Pretty adventurous life we lead, hun?  Ha ha.

Week 30

Most everything on this spread is from the Basic Grey Cottage collection that came in The ScrapRoom's August Project Life kit. I mixed in a black border sticker from the Simple Stories I {Heart} Summer Flavors of the Month kit and some stickers and a chipboard camera from the Fancy Pants Captured Flavors of the Month kit. Everything coordinates so well that I just can't help mixing and matching.

Only one more Project Life layout to share this month. I'll be back on Monday with that. Then you may not hear from me for a while as I'll be back teaching school.
