Holiday Highs or Lows

That's the theme of this week's challenge at Scrapping Out LOUD! December brings with it a mix of emotions..for example, joy, excitement, stress, worry, and rejoicing. We would like you to scrap a holiday memory...good, bad, or even ugly(think of that hidious present from the in-laws). Get creative with this one...you can go completely traditional or way off the beaten path. Here's mine.

Meeting Santa: A picture with Santa Claus is a holiday tradition for us. But you never know how it'll turn out. Sometimes a smile, sometimes an all-out cry. Maybe a pout, or maybe arms reaching for mommy. This year's photo was taken at the Bass Pro Shop in Baton Rouge, and both kiddos are looking at the camera. Not too bad.

Supplies: Patterned Paper, Border Stickers: Bo Bunny; Chipboard Snowflakes: Bazzill; Baker's Twine: Martha Stewart; Foil Alphas: American Crafts; Crackle Paint: Tim Holtz; Pearl Paint: Stickles.

I really had fun decorating those chipboard snowflakes. First, I applied a thick layer of Tim Holtz white crackle paint. Once that dried, I went over it with a thin layer of Pearl Stickles. That stuff paints on soooooo nicely. Shame you can't see it in my photos.

There are some more really great layouts HERE at Scrapping Out LOUD! Hope you'll go take a peek.
