Project Life 2014 Title Page

I am so glad today is Saturday, and that I got to play in my scrapbook room last night.  It was a long week at work, so getting to play with paper was a very nice stress reliever.  Today, I want to share my Project Life 2014 Title Page that I finished last night as well as my "rules" for this album.

Bolyer 2014

I didn't plan on my title page having a beach theme.  It just sort of happened.  Here's how. About a week before Christmas, I received my order of beach pictures that we took last summer.  After I decided which ones to give as gifts and which ones to frame, I was left with a nice stack of leftovers.  I wasn't sure what I would do with them, so I tucked them away in my scraproom.  When I pulled out my new Becky Higgins album, I decided to make the title page match the green and cream chevron cover.  That's when I remembered these photos.

Rule #1 for my 2014 Project Life album is to Use My Stash.  I dug through my papers looking for shades of light blue and sea foam green.  I found a ton of fun patterns in the My Mind's Eye and Adornit stash.  I knew that I wanted to use some more of these Studio Calico Restroom People wood veneers.  Then, I remembered that I had bought some Pink Paislee beach themed wood veneer several years ago.  That's where the starfish came from.

Rule #2 is Keep It Simple, so I didn't embellish much.  I finished off the title page with some more wood veneers from my stash and called it a day.  I was super thrilled when the teeny tiny numbers fit in the space of the B.  That discovery helped keep my title card streamlined.

And my last rule, Rule #3, is Do Monthly Spreads. I plan to use as many Design A Page Protectors and Inserts as I need. For me, that means simple (see Rule #2) and less stress.  After the end of the month, I plan to edit and order my photos and work on my January page or pages.  I'll be back to share then.

Do you have any rules or processes to share for your Project Life album?  I'm always open to ideas that help me get my pictures in the album.

Project Disney: Crystal Palace

Hi there scrappy peeps!  I'm trying to soak up as much downtime as possible today before going back to work on Monday. It's been a fabulous two weeks off, but all good things must come to an end, right? So, in an effort to avoid the laundry or the dusting, I thought I'd share another one of my Project Disney layouts with ya.

Crystal Palace

This was actually our second time to eat at The Crystal Palace. We liked it so much in 2011 that we went again in 2012. This year, however, was Ethan's "birthday" since we went in June and he had turned five in May. He got the royal treatment -- a cupcake and the birthday song. He loved it!

All the papers, stickers, and chipboard on this page came in my January kits from The ScrapRoom.  I got both the Flavors of the Month and the Project Life, which both included RSVP by Basic Grey.  The colors and theme were just perfect for my layout.

Ok, that's enough computer time for me.  Off to get some chores done so that I can sit down this evening and work on my 2014 Project Life Title Page.  See you soon!

2013 Project Life Title Page

Happy New Year my scrappy friends.  I hope that 2014 will bring many blessings to you and yours and that you are able to document those blessings in a scrappy way.  Today, I thought I would share the title page for my Project Life 2013 album.  Last year, I finished my 2012 album, and I loved working on the previous year so I am doing it again this year.  Hopefully, I will be able to complete my 2014 album at the same time . . . now that I have the hang of the system.

2013 Title

These photos were from our Fall 2012 photo shoot. They aren't as dark as they appear here. I really need to learn a new trick for photographing these layouts. Anyway, all the papers are from my January 2014 kits from The ScrapRoom. It's the Wildflower line by Carta Bella. I also used some woodgrain American Crafts Thickers from my stash.

It's a pretty simple, yet colorful title page. Just what I like. I have finished three January layouts and a Project Disney layout with the other kits.  I'll be back to share those and a January PL Sketch over the next week or so.  Until then, happy scrapping!
